The Charleston Area Community Development Corporation is a non-profit, community-based organization established in 1994 by a small group of neighborhood residents with a shared mission to build and preserve the neighborhood and residents after witnessing the decline of once thriving, resilient communities. These residents understood the negative impact this decline would have on the families who resided in and around the communities as well as the surrounding areas if it continued.
Over the years since the organization's inception, The CDC has continued to be an innovative leader of community revitalization by providing programs and services focused on housing, education and economic development. These programs and services create access, opportunities and education.
We are holding to our mission to build and preserve communities and the people who live in these communities one community at a time....one family at a time. By doing so, we are realizing our vision is to ensure that communities are affordable, preserved, healthy thriving communities where people can build assets, raise families, become economically stable and resilient and proud to call home.
