Lenore McKenna, Executive Director of the Charleston Area CDC received certification as a Housing Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council (NDC).  Certification is a designation given to individuals who successfully complete an intensive housing development finance training series that is conducted by NDC.  The courses provide individuals working in the field of housing development with training in single-family home ownership finance, multi-family housing development finance, housing development finance including problem solving and deal structuring, and the creation and implementationof development programs. 

  Each course lasts from three to five days and ends with a written review which must be passed before a certification candidate may continue in the HDFP program.   Lenore received this certification after completing the entire three-week series and passing a comprehensive examination.

The CACDC will offer a Train the Trainer seminar on Nov. 11 - 12 


Training will center on strategies for teaching the Money Smart Program (financial literacy), home-buyer education and debt management education.
