The Charleston Area CDC develops affordable housing to strengthen communities, offer low-moderate income families the opportunity to become homeowner and offer families experiencing unusual circumstances, life set-backs or disabilities the opportunity to regain stability in our affordable rental housings. When families begin building assets, they also become vested stakeholders in their community which builds stability among families and the community they live in. The affordable homes that we develop are sold to low-moderate income families or used to offer affordable rental housing to individuals and families who are struggling to regain stability. Through our affordable housing development our goals are to:
♦ Increase the affordable housing and workforce housing stock
♦ Eliminate slum and blight in disadvantaged communities
♦ Increase homeownership among low-moderate income families
♦ Provide affordable rental housing to increase stability
♦ Increase pride among in communities
